This is a conceptual illustration I did for White Wolf game's Scion: God. It is the Aztec mother goddess Coatlique. Below is the description I sent along with the piece.

throat/mouth
Larger mouth used to devour her newborn children whole.

multiple arms and breasts
Bottom arms deliver childrenand hand them up to upperarms to be devoured.

skirt of snakes and crocodile body
A skirt of snakes grow out of her waist andthe body of a crocodile grow from her posterior. She moves by pulling herself forward with her human legs, and the crodile legs drag the rest of her behind her.

Though I find this a little disturbing in the eating whole manner, its a really fascinating concept sketch wise.

As it shows just how odd looking the mother of Aztec gods is which is so true to mythology, as she is by far the oddest and most inhuman of them all.

Personal note when I saw this I assumed that she was pregnant with Huitzilopochtli.

Yay Aztec goddesses! I can't believe I didn't notice the skirt of snakes... I would have recognized her if I did! (I've only seen low-res versions of the statue) Did you find the description, or think it up yourself?

"One would know if such a thing occurred," said One.
"I, Too, would know," said Too.
